The urban mobility giant, Uber, has reached a historic strategic agreement with ItTaxi, the Italian taxi service operator, thereby ending a longstanding dispute surrounding Uber’s operating procedures in Italy. Attilio Mazzilli, Corporate Partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, was also involved in the operation.

According to a press release, the agreement between the urban mobility platform Uber and ItTaxi was made possible with the help of Splyt, a B2B mobility marketplace, which facilitated the integration of the interconnection systems between the two companies. The initial agreement will cover Milan and Rome and will eventually expand to other cities in Italy, enabling over 12,000 vehicles and operators from ItTaxi to use the platform provided by Uber. In the operation, Orrick and Carnelutti UK provided legal assistance to Splyt, Hogan Lovells assisted Uber, and Longo & Rossetti advised ItTaxi.
