Greg Akins, President and CEO of Catalytic Generators, recently participated in a new event as part of a European tour that, over the past few months, has included key industry stops in Madrid, Berlin, and most recently Rimini for Macfrut. The tour provided an opportunity to closely monitor the dynamics of the fruit ripening market and to observe the increasing adoption of ethylene-related technologies. The company emphasized that these international events facilitated interactions with both long-standing clients and new industry players, highlighting a growing interest in the solutions offered by Catalytic Generators.
“Both Fruit Attraction and Fruit Logistica serve as key benchmarks for assessing the future direction of the fruit ripening sector, particularly within the European market, and for understanding how we are contributing to its development. The most recent editions of these events have proven highly successful,” stated Greg Akins. “In collaboration with our Dutch distributor, Fresh Produce Instruments, we welcomed a significant number of visitors to our stands, including long-standing clients and potential new partners”.
The CEO highlighted that in Italy there is a growing interest in replacing traditional and complex ethylene management systems with simpler, more easily applicable solutions. The event provided an opportunity to meet both existing and prospective clients from across the country, as well as international visitors, allowing Catalytic Generators to present in detail their technologies and their impact on the fruit ripening market. Greg Akins emphasized that the company will introduce its SmartRipe® technology, which enables their generators to communicate wirelessly with the team, providing users with all the necessary information to ensure that the equipment installed in the ripening rooms is functioning correctly.
“The SmartRipe® system will transmit data regarding the operational status of the generators, the start and end of ethylene application, the amount of Ethy-Gen® II present in each generator, any alerts or notifications, and other operational information. This data will be accessible through a secure web page, viewable from a PC or mobile device, or, if compatible, directly from the control system of the ripening rooms”.
