The US aerospace company has taken delivery of the NanoCycler platform, developed by the Umbria-based firm NplusT, a business headquartered in Montecastrilli (Terni) specializing in high-performance electronic memory testing systems. The integrated hardware and software solution will be deployed in the characterization process of NAND Flash memories, a non-volatile storage technology capable of retaining data without electrical power. Designed to meet stringent aerospace qualification standards and radiation testing protocols, the NanoCycler platform enables independent component testing and accurate performance monitoring across diverse operating and environmental conditions.

The analyzed parameters include temporal degradation, endurance across write and read cycles, data retention, operating latencies, and power consumption. The acquisition of these metrics is essential to determining the reliability levels of components destined for mission-critical applications in high-stress environments. The development of hardware and software platforms for non-volatile memory characterization constitutes the core business of NplusT, a company founded in 2002 by Tamas Kerekes. Headquartered in Montecastrilli (Terni), with operational laboratories in San Martino in Campo (Perugia), the firm rounds out its positioning in the semiconductor industry by offering advanced data analytics tools and specialized engineering services.

“This delivery marks another significant milestone in our activities for the aerospace industry, which began in 2025 with a project developed alongside ESA, PCB Design, and Thales, now in its final phase. It confirms the relevance of our technology in supporting radiation testing and aerospace qualification, while reflecting the growing international recognition of NanoCycler as a benchmark platform for NAND memory characterization,” stated President and CEO Tamas Kerekes.
